Description
Der zu seiner Zeit als „Dompteur der Orgel“ gefeierte Organist an der Pariser Hauptkirche St. Eustache hat ein quantitativ wie qualitativ beachtliches Werk hinterlassen. Die „Deux Communions“ erschienen erstmals 1860 bei Richault, Paris. Insbesondere die erste Communion erlangte ob seiner berührend-anmutigen Melodie rasch große Popularität. In zahlreichen Bearbeitungen avancierte es als „Célèbre Andante“ zu einem der meist verbreiteten Werke Batistes.
